Detail : The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) captured by Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC). HSC offers an ultra-wide field of view equivalent to nine full Moons, covering nearly the entire Andromeda Galaxy.
Zooming into the image, you can see every individual star in the galaxy, 2.5 million light-years away. These pictures show how the Subaru Telescope and HSC work together to provide a wide field of view and sharp star images.
