The Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (HSC-SSP) started back in March 2014. Since then, the HSC-SSP team has carried out observations over 7 years while struggling against bad weather and volcanic activity in Kīlauea. It is a great success for the observatory to complete its largest observing program to date, consisting of 330 nights of allocated time. In addition to deep, multi-wavelength data over ~30 square degrees, the survey also covered an area as wide as 1100 square degrees to shallower depths. The next steps for the team will be to process the huge amount of observational data collected over the last 7 years and then perform science analyses. Science results based on the entire survey data are going to be very exciting; please look forward to them!
