Subaru Telescope Visitor Form

Please submit Subaru Telescope Visitor Form when your scope falls one of the following categories of work. Information on the facility tour program is available in a different page.

Procedures are slightly different based on your visiting purpose. Please review following pages for more detail.

All visitors must review following items

Are you planning to go up to the summit on the day you arrive to Hilo from outside of Hawaii State?
You can go up to Hale Pohaku (HP) mid-level facility on the day you arrive; however, you are not allowed to go up to the summit due to safety reasons.
Are you planning to work at the summit without observatory staff being on site?
Observatory staff who are certified to work at the summit must be present on site while you work at the summit.
Are you planning to use hazardous items such as chemicals at the summit or Hilo facility?
Please provide the detailed information on your visitor form. Safety officer must be informed prior to your arrival.
Are you planning to use laser at the summit?
Please provide the detailed information on your visitor form. Safety officer must be informed prior to your arrival.
Are you planning to connect your computer to our network?
