We are pleased to announce the launch of a new program to express our gratitude to donors who support the Subaru Telescope. Through this program, donor benefits will be provided to those who make contributions to the Subaru Telescope.
Donor Benefits
◆Benefits for contributions of less than 1 million yen:

◆Benefits for contributions of 1 million yen or more and less than 10 million yen:
Digital certificate of appreciation and photo panel featuring an astronomical image captured by the Subaru Telescope or photograph of the Subaru Telescope
◆Benefits for contributions of 10 million yen or more:
Digital certificate of appreciation + one benefit selected from the following three options:
1. Private tour of the Subaru Telescope
2. Online conversation with the Director of Subaru Telescope
3. Photo panel featuring an astronomical image captured by the Subaru Telescope or photograph of the Subaru Telescope

Details of Donor Benefits
◆Digital Certificate of Appreciation
A certificate of appreciation from the Director of Subaru Telescope will be provided as a digital image file (JPG format).
◆Subaru Telescope Image Panel
A printed panel featuring an astronomical image captured with the Subaru Telescope or a photograph of the Subaru Telescope will be provided. Donors may select one image from the gallery on the Subaru Telescope website.
Notes:
• We will contact donors separately after receiving their contribution to confirm their preferred image.
• If no image is specified, we will select a recommended image for printing.
• If an image with low resolution (for example, with maximum dimensions of 2,000 pixels or less) is selected, the printed size may be reduced. We recommend selecting an image with at least one dimension of 4,000 pixels or more.
• The image may be cropped to match the aspect ratio of the printed panel.
◆Private Tour of the Subaru Telescope
The Director of Subaru Telescope will guide visitors through the Subaru Telescope summit facility located on Maunakea, Hawaiʻi Island.
• Duration: Approximately 2 hours for the summit facility tour; approximately 6–7 hours in total, including travel between the base and summit facilities, as well as time for altitude acclimatization.
• Meeting point and end point: The base facility in Hilo, Hawaiʻi Island. Travel expenses to and from the base facility are the responsibility of the participants.;•Number of participants: Up to four participants, in principle.
• The schedule will be arranged separately after the contribution has been received.
Notes:
• People under 16 years old, those with health concerns, and pregnant individuals are not permitted to visit the Maunakea summit area (elevation 4,200 m), where the Subaru Telescope is located.
• In the event that access to the summit facility is not possible due to severe weather conditions, such as snow, an alternative tour of the base facility will be provided.
◆Online Conversation with the Director of Subaru Telescope
An online conversation with the Director of Subaru Telescope will be held via Zoom or another online meeting platform. Researchers or engineers whose expertise matches your interests may also join the conversation.
The preferred date and conversation topic will be arranged separately after the contribution has been received.
How to Apply (For Residents of the United States)
Please apply through the Myriad USA website. Once we confirm your donation, we will contact you by email regarding the donor benefits.
What is Myriad USA?
Myriad USA is a public charity based in New York State, United States, and is incorporated under Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The National Institutes of Natural Sciences (NINS), which oversees the NAOJ Subaru Telescope, has a fiscal sponsorship agreement with Myriad USA. Please use this platform when making your donation.
Donation Process
1. Donation through the Myriad USA website
Residents of the United States can make donations through the Myriad USA website.
Payments can be made by credit card, check, or bank transfer.

When selecting the fund to which you wish to donate, please check the box labeled "Add a note for The National Institutes of Natural Sciences" on the "Donate" page and enter "Subaru Telescope" in the "Private note" field.
2. Receipt issued by Myriad USA
Myriad USA will issue a donation receipt. Please note that NINS does not issue donation receipts.
3. Transfer of donations to NINS
NINS will submit a grant application to Myriad USA. At that time, Myriad USA’s processing fee will be deducted according to the donation amount, and the remaining funds will be transferred to NINS.
4. Notification regarding donor benefits
The NAOJ Fund Office will contact donors by email regarding the applicable donor benefits.
How to Apply (For Residents Outside the United States)
Residents outside the United States may donate either by credit card through the online donation form or by submitting an online application form and making a bank transfer.

In the questionnaire section at the bottom of the form, please enter "Subaru Telescope" in the field labeled "(1) Details of use."
For donations of 10 million yen or more, please indicate which of the three donor benefits you would like to receive in the field labeled "(4) For inquiries."
Online Application Followed by Bank Transfer
Please apply using this form.
Please enter the required information in the application form. After selecting "Donate to a specific NAOJ observatory, project, or researcher", please select "Subaru Telescope."
There will be a question regarding donor benefits. Please indicate your preferences accordingly. If you are eligible for multiple benefits, you may choose to receive only some of them.
Your support helps sustain the operation of the Subaru Telescope, advance astronomical research, nurture the next generation of scientists and engineers, and share the excitement of astronomy and discoveries with people around the world.
