NGC 4030 is a face-on spiral galaxy located in the constellation Virgo. It exhibits prominent grand-design spiral arms, accompanied by dense, obscuring dust lanes composed of interstellar dust. Each spiral galaxy possesses unique features, such as varying numbers of arms and different levels of contrast between the arms and the regions in between (arm-interarm contract). Unlike grand-design spirals like NGC 4030, flocculent spiral galaxies display less defined, fragmented spiral structures. Discover the fascinating diversity of spiral galaxies with various spiral structures.
