On August 27, 2026 (Hawai‘i Standard Time), a partial lunar eclipse was visible from Maunakea. The Moon rose above the summit area after the eclipse had reached its maximum phase, while the partial phase continued, allowing observers to watch it gradually return to its full, uneclipsed appearance.
