The night sky as seen from the summit area of Maunakea. The Milky Way stretches across the sky above the world-class observatories located there. At the center of the scene are the enclosures for the Subaru Telescope and the Keck I and II Telescopes. To the right, you can see the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility (IRTF), while the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) and the Submillimeter Array (SMA) are in the lower left.
