Flammable Solvents Spill Cleanup Kit Directions
(excerpt from the manufacturers instruction for SOLUSORB)
Spill cleanup capacity with one box is 480 ml in volume for the
cleanup of common organic liquids.
Hazards: Explosion - Fire - Inhalation
Appearance: black, dry, charcoal like granules. When adsorbing
the solvent, it becomes slightly warmer. After use, the granules
seem to be softer. (SSH)
General safety information
- IMMEDIATELY remove all sources of ignition from the spill
area.
- IMEEDIATELY provide maximum ventilation.
- AVOID excessive inhalation of vapor or skin contact with
solvents.
- DO NOT USE for the cleanup of strong oxidizers, including
peroxides, or other highly unstable organic compounds.

Procedure
- Open the carton of SOLUSORB Solven Adsorbent using the
perforated opening. NOTE: Each box of SOLUSORB will adsorb 240 ml
(8 oz) of solvent. Two boxes are supplied in one package.
- Apply sufficient SOLUSORB onto the spill to adsorb ALL of the
solvent.
- THOROUGHLY mix the SOLUSORB and solvent with the SCOOP
provided until the SOLUSORB ragains its appearance as a dry, free
running, non-adhering powder. NOTE: If the proper quantity of
SOLUSORB is used, the solvent oder in the mixture will be very
slight. If a strong oder persists, add additional SOLUSORB.
- Pick up the saturated SOLUSORB with the scoops and transfer it
to the plastic DISPOAL BAG provided.
- Place used scoops and gloves in the dispolag bag and twist
seal with the BAG TIE provided. Fill out the disposal label, peel
off backing, and afix to the bag.
- Dipose of the bag and contents in accordance with the local
environmental regulations.
CAUTION: Do not store waste SOLUSORB at temperatures in excess of
52 degree C (125 F).
