The reflecting telescope, the telescope that uses a concave mirror to collect light for observing astonomoical objects, was invented by Isaac Newton (1643-1727). In addition to the invention of the reflecting telescope, Newton also discovered the three laws of motion (Newton’s laws of motion) about inertia (first law), force (second law), and action and reaction (third law). Later on, Edwin Hubble (1889-1953), an American astronomer, used a large reflecting telescope for galaxy observations outside the Milky Way and made a remarkable discovery called the Hubble-Lemaitre Law. This was a discovery that the Universe is expanding even at this moment!
