Astro Facts
Astronomers sometimes develop their observing instruments. The six instruments are currently installed in the Subaru Telescope, and new ones are being developed or planned. There are two ways of observation: imaging and spectroscopy. Imaging takes a picture of a portion of the sky to study the shape and distribution of astonomoical objects, and spectroscopy divides the light into different “colors” (wavelengths) to study the temperature and composition. Astronomers exchange the instrument for what they want to know.
