A large narrowband imaging campaign searching for z ∼ 2 Lyα emitters (LAEs) in the fields traced by groups of strong intergalactic Hi Lyα absorption on a scale of 15 cMpc/h was carried out by using the Subaru/HSC NB387. A field among the sample, BOSSJ0210, encounters a group of strong clustering quasars, i.e., 11 quasars down to MUV∼−23 detected by SDSS/eBOSS in (40 cMpc)3, which is the highest quasar density peak at z>2 and the overdensity reaches δQSO∼30 at a significance of ∼ 17σ. Thus, this structure is also called Cosmic Himalayas. Interestingly, the quasar overdensity is not located in the overdensity traced by LAEs but instead is inhabited at a large-scale filament that is extended for 100 cMpc. Galaxy properties and IGM ionizing stages in the two LAE nodes show bimodal features, and the quasars’ location is likely where transitions happen. However, the resonant nature of Lyα makes interpretations degenerate. Therefore, we propose a MOIRCS/NB2083+Ks imaging survey to search for the more mature and resonance-free Hα emitters (HAEs). By inspecting the spatial distribution and properties of the different galaxy populations, we will get to understand better how quasar feedback affects/traces galaxy evolution and what triggers such intensive emergence of quasars.
