We would like to observe spectroscopic follow-up of HSC SSP discovered supernova (or their host galaxies) using Subaru/FOCAS in the framework of international collaboration. Type Ia Supernova is one of the most powerful probes to constrain the nature of dark energy. HSC SSP transient survey conducted from 2016 November to 2017 April has identified 300 SNeIa and ∼60 SNe Ia at z>1 where the redshift come from host galaxies’ photometric redshifts. In Sep 2019 - Feb 2020, HSC SSP transient survey resumes on SXDS field and we expect HSC yields similar number of SNe and we aim to send the best ones to Hubble Space Telescope. We propose spectroscopic follow-up observation of 5-10 host galaxies of SN Ia candidates and their host galaxies which are observed with WFC3 on HST. HST WFC3 observation enables us to conduct accurate SN color measurement and we are in need of getting spectroscopic redshift for cosmological analysis. This proposed observation is critical for the success of the HSC+HST SNIa cosmology project, and we expect to produce the most precise measurement of dark energy among many competitors.
