Previous high-contrast observations in near-infrared band, such as the Strategic Exploration of Exoplanets and Disks with Subaru (SEEDS, M. Tamura, PI) survey, have revealed many protoplanetary disk structures around young stars. However, for the disk structures close (∼10 AU scale) to the young stars, observations from optical or near-infrared band are still limited. Observations of the disks’ inner regions from optical and near-infrared bands are crucial to understand the disk evolution as well as potential planet formation process in the disk, therefore, executing an observation focusing on the inner region of protoplanetary disks is quite necessary. Here we propose our plan of observing the inner region (∼10 AU scale) of the protoplanetary disks using VAMPIRES. We will focus on detecting and characterizing disk structures including gaps, spiral arms and streamers in this inner region. This observation will significantly help gain a better understanding of disk evolution.
