We propose to utilize Subaru-HSC to observe the 9 deg2 Bootes/CDWFS field, the largest extragalactic survey region with existing deep coverage across the full electromagnetic spectrum, comprising deep Chandra X-ray, Spitzer IRAC/MIPS, Herschel and Westerbork radio data, as well as ∼30,000 spectroscopic redshifts with MMT/Hectospec. Our proposed deep (to i ∼ 25.7) HSC 5-band observations in grizY-bands will provide a crucial upgrade to the available 3-band BRI optical photometry in Bootes/CDWFS that was previously performed in the NOAO-Deep Wide Field Survey. Our new HSC observations will detect 107 galaxies, and allow us to compute accurate photometric redshifts. We will use these data to perform a cross correlation analysis between the HSC galaxies and Chandra X-ray detected AGN to robustly measure variations in the AGN Halo Occupation Distribution to an unprecedented level of precision. Furthermore, we will identify a statistical sample of AGN residing in dwarf galaxies to ascertain the evolution of the relic population of the earliest black holes in the universe.
