We are conducting legacy deep Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) imaging with 5 new custom narrowband (NB) filters, NB387, NB527, NB718, IB945, and NB973 atop the footprint of the HSC/Subaru Strategic Program (SSP) Ultra-Deep COSMOS. Combining these imaging data and the SSP’s 5 broadbands+NB921, we address 3 key questions of cosmic reionization being actively discussed in theory and observations today: ionization history, sources, and topology. The project has been designed carefully since 2007 and a total of 100 million yen has been awarded from JSPS for the NB developments. The legacy value and urgency of this project were highly evaluated by Subaru reviewers and TAC, resulting in the allocation of 13 nights as an Intensive program (S16B001). Due to bad weather, unfortunately, we have lost 4 nights so far and the remaining 0.5 nights in S18B is insufficient for the last filter, IB945. Here we request additional observing time to complete IB945 imaging which will reveal the ionization topology at z∼7 with a comparison of LBG and LAE spatial distributions. This will be the first experiment visualizing the ionization topology directly, a decade prior to the future 21 cm observations.
