We will use the broad wavelength range of the Vampires + CHARIS instruments to characterise the colours and binary astrometry of a sample of benchmark pre-main sequence binaries in the Rho Ophiucus and Upper Scorpius star forming regions. This completes our long-standing (10-year) program to measure dynamical masses using Keck, which has not been able to be finished because of the inability for that telescope to provide short-wavelength photometry. This is the last opportunity to propose for this program before the second release of Gaia data, which when added to our dataset, will provide by far most accurate sample of pre-main-sequence stellar masses ever measured, significantly constraining one of the most uncertain current fields of stellar astrophysics and measuring the age distribution of the star forming region where many young exoplanets are being found.
