(Proposal ID) S17A-129 (PI) Sato, Bunei (Proposal Title) Confirming Transiting Neptunes and M Dwarf Planets From HAT (Abstract) We propose for two nights on Subaru/HDS to obtain high-precision RV observations of four very promising candidate transiting planet systems from the HAT ground-based transit surveys. Three of the candidates are potential Neptune-mass planets, and one is transiting near the habitable zone of its nearby M dwarf host star. All are around bright stars. The proposed observations will allow us to confirm these as planets, measure their masses, and characterize the host stars. If confirmed, these planets would represent a valuable addition to the small samples of well-characterized low-mass planets and planets around M dwarfs. Moreover, two of the objects would be extraordinary planetary systems with no known counterparts, making them of great interest for future follow-up studies.
