(Proposal ID) S13A-021 (PI) Honda, Mitsuhiko (Proposal Title) Trial for the direct detection of exoplanets in the N-band (Abstract) We propose to make N-band deep imaging observations for detecting the HR8799 exoplanets. Since the exoplanets have been detected from optical wavelengths to M-band so far, this will be the case detected in the longest wavelengths, which will be the milestone for the groundbased mid-infrared (N-band) astronomy. We also try to make multi-wavelegnths observations to confirm the presence/absence of NH3 absorption features. NH3 absorption feature is expected based on the brown dwarf atmospheric models, thus it will illustrates the similarity or difference between the atmosphere of exoplanets and that of brown dwarfs. Even when we could only get the flux upper limit of the exoplanets, our observations will be helpful to constrain the exoplanets' atmospheric models. Therefore, our observations are promising for the promotion of our understanding of exoplanets' atmosphere.
