About wmdp_moircs.sav

"wmdp_moircs.sav" is the Mask Design Program for MOIRCS -- an extended version of FOCAS wmdp4 program for MOIRCS mask design(1)(2). You can download wmdp_moircs.sav from the link below.
    wmdp_moircs.sav (802 KB, NEW!! version 2023-02-20).

    Update history:
    2006-08-07: Created the page.
2006-10-04: R1300 option available. Changed the center of the FOV to (1084,1786) considering the actual data. etc.
2007-03-06: Revised to match the actual spectral coverage with new order-sorting filter.
2007-07-04: WCS information tab has been removed. The default pixel scale is set to 0.1170. Other minor bugs are fixed.
2023-02-20: The recutangular area for MOIRCS FOV is more accurate than before. The VPHJ, VPHH, R1300 grisms are removed from the grism selection, and instead the LS_J/LS_H grisms are added. The spatial shift of the spectra is now included in the graphics. And also, each spectra is now with dashed lines aimed for the aid of the observable spectral range for users.

"wmdp_moircs.sav" is developed under IDL, and works on the IDL Virtual Machine environment (Linux/unix platform only!). To start wmdp_moircs.sav, you will first need to download and install the IDL VM software to your Unix/Linux machine. Please download IDL VM from the L3Harris IDL Virtual Machine Website. Please make sure that you are downloading the Linux/Unix platform version.

After installing IDL VM, you can start wmdp_moircs.sav by typing below in your working directory.

> idl -vm=wmdp_moircs.sav

We recommend to put wmdp_moircs.sav, MOIRCS mosaicked preimage, and the mdp file you created before starting wmdp_moircs.sav at the same working directory before starting wmdp_moircs.sav.

When you are ready, you can now jump to the MDP Manual Page!
