bigimage.pro --- Chip 1 & 2 combination and distortion correction

What this task dose:

• Chip combination
  • Combine two chips into one big image considering relative position difference between the two.
• Distortion calibration (optional)
• Simple flat fielding (optional)
• Simple bias subtraction (optional)
• Input data:
  • Object.fits (a pair of chip 1 and 2)
  • Flat.fits (a pair of chip 1 and 2)
  • Bias.fits (a pair of chip 1 and 2)
• Output data:
  • Chip-combined object image

Usage

bigimage.pro start-up

Check for your desired options

Do distortion calibration or not
Do bias subtraction or not
Do flat fielding or not

Input file names

1. Input files (Object.fits, Flat.fits, Bias.fits)

• Select a pair of files at a time
• If you skip flat and bias corrections, you do not need Flat.fits and bias.fits)

1. Output files (Object_Reduced.fits)
2. Mosaicing/Distortion data file

• Ask SS for the best parameter file

Note

Distortion correction is very slow (>5 min. depending on your computer performance)
