Occasional CE Problems and Their Solutions

RPC cannot establish connections.

• How to discover

  Receive RPC error on CE. The commands sent from CE do not go through other programs.

• Why?

  Target process is dead, and CE could not reach the process.

• Solution

  Check other processes, and restart it, if neccessary.
  

Cannot establish connections to CD and UI with a warning pertinent to time, etc.

• How to discover

  A warning pertinent to time shows up in CE.

  Commands do not go through CD and so forth. Even if they do, NG shows up.

• Why?

  CE checks time every time RPC connection is being done. Thus, the command gets rejected if the time set in CE and that in RPC do not match up.

  This error usually occurs in communication between different WS's such as UI <-> CE, CE <-> CD, and etc.

• Solution

  Execute "rdate focas" in focas2 or on root in falcon. This command sets up the time in that WS so as to match it with the time in focas OBCP.
