Dr.
Masahide Takada-Hidai, a Subaru Open Use observer from Tokai
University, and his observation team made spectroscopic
observations of the supernova SN 2002ap with the
High
Dispersion Spectrograpgh (HDS) on February 2nd (HST).
This supernova was discovered by a Japanese amateur astronomer
Mr. Youji Hirose on January 29th, 2002 (JST).
Analysis of the observational data is now
proceeding and we will report the results as soon as they
become available
